Vietnam Veterans of America Cochise County Chapter 1020 Scholarship program

“Joseph T. Mesch Memorial Scholarship Fund”

The chapter is proud to announce it's scholarship program.   Our scholarship committee is working hard to provide the scholarship in 2010.   If you or someone you know is interested, contact our Scholarship Committee Chair to be put on our list of interested candidates.   1. Eligibility
    1. High School Graduate with a 3.0 grade point average
    2. Graduated from a High School in Cochise County and a resident of Cochise County
    3. United States Citizen
  2. Criteria
    1. Must pass a written exam on the Vietnam War and era.
    2. Must submit an essay at least 5 type written pages on the Vietnam era involving the United States.
  3. Selection
    1. Selection will be made by a committee from Chapter 1020 from received applicants
    2. VVA 1020 will determine the committee and procedures for selection of the best applicant.
  4. Scholarship amount, requirements and presentation.
    1. Initial amount to be $1000
    2. Present annually to one qualified applicant.
    3. To be utilized as the student sees fit for any institution of higher learning.
    4. To be used within one year of presentation.
