Trip to Vietnam
Fellow Chapter 1020 Vietnam Veterans and families:
I am hosting a trip back to Vietnam when the weather is good from 12 to 23 April, 2010. We will visit Hanoi, Hue, Danang, Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau, and the Mekong Delta.
Our trip guide will be Capt Ed Garr, USMC, ret. He served in both Korea and Vietnam. He is in his seventies, and has guided over 60 trips back. I went on one with him a couple of years ago. Everywhere we went, everyone knew Daiuy Ed, and he knew everybody. He has encyclopedic knowledge of both Army (like Pork Chop Hill) and Marine battles (Khe Sanh). He also has a dedicated team of Vietnamese translators and guides working for him who can open doors, provide security, and get things done in general.
If you have ever thought about going back, this might be the ideal opportunity.
I'm only going to host this trip once, and that's it. Wives and significant others are welcome. The shopping is great for jewelry, lacquer ware, silk, etc.
In you are interested, check out the trip itinerary at www.miltours.com The trip is entitled "Col Donald Cook POW/MOH Memorial Tour." If you have any questions, please give me a call @ (520) 803-9234.
I live in Sierra Vista (Winterhaven, the open-air prison for retired people over 55), and am the author of "The First Marine Captured in Vietnam" published by McFarland. See www.mcfarlandpub.com for details about the book or go to amazon.com
Semper Fidelis,
Don Price
