Why Your Membership Is important

VVA and AVVA members alike contribute greatly to the veteran community in Cochise County. Since our charter, the chapter has helped several veterans of all generations, active duty military, and their families. The chapter has brought together veterans like you.

Your membership is important. A portion of your membership dues is sent directly to the chapter to assist in furthering our goals and a portion to the national organization to help with national issues. The legacy of the Vietnam era veteran is up to you. Your membership is another voice in changing the world of issues facing Vietnam veterans as well as generations of veterans to come.

Changes in national legislation, VA health care, and respect to your generation were made by Vietnam veterans like you who stood up and made a difference. There are over 8,000 Vietnam era veterans in Cochise County. There are over 30,000 veterans in the county. Our membership has stayed around 42 VVA members and the AVVA has about 18 members. The greater our membership, the greater our voice for you in local, county, state, and national issues. We need your membership to expand assistance to our veterans and give them the respect and dignity they deserve.

About our Chapter

Chapter 1020 was formed and received it's national charter in January 2009.   In that short time we have assisted Veterans, active duty and their families.   From individual help to partnering with the Order of the Silver Rose and Operation Homefront the chapter has tenaciously kept to the motto "Never again shall one generation of Veterans abandon another behind".  We care tremendously for the Vietnam era Veteran.  The issues of PTSD, Agent Orange, homelessness, and unemployment will not go away.  From our experiences we seek to better the lives of Veterans from our generation, assist all others, their families and educate the public on lessons learned.  In our short time as a chapter we have provided over $7000 in assistance to our brothers and sisters in need plus the comfort of knowing there are those who care.

Make a difference!

If you want to make a difference, join us.  We serve all of Cochise County.       A portion of your dues goes directly to the chapter to help continue it's mission.  If you live in any of these communities come to one of our meetings and check us out. Check our meetings page for meeting information. Contact our VVA Membership Director at membership@cochisecountyvva.org or our AVVA Representative at avva@cochisecountyvva.org to find out how you can help.
